ALDI supermarket interested in opening at Narooma Plaza

German discount supermarket ALDI has expressed an interest in locating in the proposed expanded development at the Narooma Plaza shopping centre, along with a larger Woolworths supermarket to the rear.

Narooma Plaza have reached agreement in principle on terms with both Woolworths and ALDI for the construction of its revised redevelopment plan, and formal documentation is currently being prepared for execution by the relevant parties.

The centre is in the process of commencing a significant expansion program, which would include new full-line Woolworths and ALDI supermarkets, an expanded packaged liquor offering, fresh food/café opportunities, as well as additional retail spaces, he said.

The revised redevelopment plan, while not substantially different to those already approved, are still required to be submitted to and approved by the council via a Section 96 amendment, which had been lodged with Eurobodalla Shire Council.

Subject to approval from council, our consultancy team will complete the required documentation to go out to tender in late 2017. Once tenders are received and a builder appointed we are hoping to commence construction of Stage 1 in the first half of 2018.
